Novel Summary: 1984 by George Orwell

The unique “1984”, composed by George Orwell is a fiction book that occurs in the year 1984 in London, in the nation of Oceania. In the novel the judgment Party sees the people through telescreens, around the city there are posters with a face known as Huge Bro with the text, “Huge Bro is Watching you” posted on it. The Celebration manages everything in the country. They begin to put a language called Newspeak into action. Newspeak is supposed to stop rebellion through disposing of words that relate to it. Rebellious ideas which are known as thoughtcrimes is even unlawful, these are the worst crimes of all.

The main character of the story, Winston Smith belongs to the external celebration. As the book continues Winston reveals his dislike for the celebration through purchasing a journal and making a note of his ideas, these are very prohibited things to do. Winston likewise starts to focus on a male called O’Brien, an Inner party member. He thinks that O’Brien belongs to the Brotherhood, a group that works to criminal activity. She later offers him a note which reads she enjoys him and she notifies him that her name is Julia, this causes their surreptitious relationship. Due to it being unlawful, they constantly need to make sure that the celebration is not keeping track of.

Winston and Julia choose to rent a room in the prole district, which is not as heavily kept an eye on. Julia tries to be optimistic about the circumstance. However Winston understands that it will eventually come to an end when the Celebration becomes conscious of it.

Winston lastly receives the message from O’Brien to fulfill that he expected. Winston and Julia travel together to O’Brien’s extravagant house. O’Brien confesses to them that he dislikes the Celebration too and exposes that he belongs to the Brotherhood. He teaches them the beliefs and methods of the Brotherhood, then offers Winston a copy of the book Manifesto of the Brotherhood by Emmanuel Goldstein. As Winston reads the book to Julia in the space that they were renting they get barged in on by soldiers.

They are separated and get taken to the Ministry of love. Winston recognizes that O’Brien fooled him and he brainwashes Winston for months. Then sends him to the feared Space 101, where Winston will need to face his worst worry. Winston’s has actually had routine headaches about rats throughout the book. So, O’Brien attaches a cage loaded with rats onto Winston’s head, which allows the rats to eat his face. Winston begs O’Brien to do it in Julia, not him, which is precisely what O’Brien desired all along. Winston is released from custody and satisfies Julia once again. He now does not have any sensations for her. Winston is a changed guy and he likes the Huge Sibling.
