Destiny and Frankenstein
“Fate was too powerful, and her immutable laws had decreed my utter and terrible destruction.” Victor Frankenstein says this right prior to informing Walton his story. Destiny played an essential role in the book Frankenstein. Victor sees it as the force that caused his downfall. He blames the majority of what has actually happened on fate. In the beginning it was his fate to develop the monster, later on he says it is his destiny to ruin it. Victor feltas if some force was making him experiment, that some force was making him make the beast and he had no control over it.
This is why when he was constructing the monster he shut him self off from whatever else and devoted himself to his experiment. He didn’t need to do this but something was driving him to, and it may have been his interest and his wanting to cheat death, or play god, or do something no one else had ever done in the past, however likewise, he might have had those characteristics because he was predestined to have them. Possibly this all occurred so he and others can comprehend that you should not play god, however then after he built the monster it was his destiny to destroy it. As a result of
Victor’s actions, much of his liked ones passed away, Elizabeth, William, Justine, and his dad. After Victor made the monster his fate became to be punished for it, however could Victor have prevented all this? Maybe, and maybe not. The response to that question depends on whether you think in fate or not. Is destiny really so effective that Victor had no control over it? Could Victor’s destiny have been various if he had not developed the beast? Could Victor have sustained from building the monster, or was fate too powerful? How about the part when Victor destroys the emale monster, what would have taken place if Victor hadn’t damaged it, or was it his destiny to damage it? Later in the book he follows the beast into the cold, what if he didn’t, would he have still died? In all of this Victor made choices, he decided whether to go off to college, he chose whether to build the beast, he decided whether or not to build the female, he chose whether to chase the beast, however where these really his choices, or was it his destiny to wind up on Walton’s ship? Victor informed Walton his story and revealed what wanting to check out into the nknown can lead to, in the end, Walton’s ship turns around and decides not to discover the North Pole. I think that it was Victor’s destiny for all this to happen since in the end all that he has actually done was informed to teach Walton a lesson. Destiny is stated to be an effective force which identifies your future. If you think in destiny, you think that everybody was put on this earth for a reason and whatever you do is for a factor. Believing in fate indicates that when you do something, although you might think you are deciding by yourself, you are eally carrying out your fate. I do think that destiny does have a big part on individuals lives. I think that a number of the choices you make, you make them due to the fact that it was your fate to make them. There are numerous examples in individuals’s lives that can make you think, what would have occurred if I had done this differently? Or, was it my fate for this to occur, or simply the outcomes of my errors. A couple years ago my auntie passed away in a train mishap, and everybody started thinking, if she had been on a different train, or if she was consumed and could not get on the train, or if she hadn’t been on the journey, would she still have died? I believe that it was her destiny to go on that train due to the fact that it was her time to die. Another example of this has to do with this lady that I understand, when she was more youthful her parents, brother and sister died in a car accident. She always is sorry for that she stayed home ill on that day and didn’t pass away right along with them. But I think that she was spared for a factor, maybe she’ll make a difference in someone’s life. Destiny is an extremely powerful thing.
Many individuals think factors can alter fate, one being not taking obligations for your actions, which is what Victor did. He refused to blame what occurred on himself. If you believe in destiny too much, you slack off and do not attempt to change for the much better, and you do not look after yourself due to the fact that you think, “whatever occurs it is going to be the same no matter what I do since it is my fate and its been already chosen.” In the book Victor blamed most of the things that occurred on fate and didn’t take responsibility for the majority of them.
He refused to blame what occurred as his own doing. When he was developing the monster, he didn’t attempt to stop himself, when the monster came to life he fled, he left Elizabeth alone for a second on his wedding night believing he was the one the beast sought, he then chased the beast thinking it was his fate to do so which triggered his death. He thought whatever that occurred was his fate and that he might not have altered it. When you think in fate you try to do what you believe your fate has planned for you, and even if ou do not you still do what was prepared, even if you’re incorrect about your destiny it constantly catches up with you. Lets state some man believes its his destined is to become a doctor, he attempts and he attempts and he becomes one however later he realizes being an attorney is the job for him, because that was his fate. Some individuals who believe in destiny slack of because they believe that whatever takes place, I couldn’t have actually prevented it, they may lets state start smoking and think if I die from this its because it was my destiny to do so. Then they pass away from it and some individuals hink it might have been avoided, but I think that even if he didn’t think in fate he would have used up cigarette smoking since the way he would die had already been decided for him. Lets say somebody commits suicide, people always think it might have been avoided, however I believe they passed away since it was their destiny, if it wasn’t their time to pass away yet, they might have tried to devote suicide but would not have prospered. So in reality you cant even control when you die, like when Napoleon attempted to eliminate himself with that effective toxin and stopped working, it wasn’t his time to die yet.
So in conclusion I think that whatever that happened to Victor was the outcome of fate. I do not think that it occurred due to the fact that he gave up excessive to his curiosity. I believe it was his fate to have this curiosity, to look into the unidentified and to attempt to have the power to produce life. What led him to this was the death of his mom this made him wish to attempt to reanimate the dead, it was his mother’s destiny to die so that Victor’s destiny would be fulfilled. So it wasn’t Victor’s qualities that led him to fall, he had those attributes since he was predestined to fall.
